CappcoPartners advises Foresight Group in £4m investment into Protean Software

Operational transformation firm CappcoPartners has successfully supported Foresight Group by providing a sales and marketing assessment to support its commercial and operational due diligence of Protean Software. Thereafter Foresight made a £4m investment to facilitate the company’s growth plans.

Coventry based Protean Software develops and sells business management and field service management software for organisations involved in the supply, installation and maintenance of equipment. Its solution comprises both desktop software and a mobile variant used on engineers’ Android devices.

CappcoPartners’ team was led by founding Partner Mark Cappell. It used its Growth Assessment Model to assess the target company’s current sales and marketing capabilities, processes, strategy and management.

The resulting report provided Foresight Group with a clear view of the company’s ability to deliver to its growth plan.

Foresight Group’s James Livingston said: “‘CappcoPartners’ report gave us real tangible insight into the current capabilities of the business, providing comfort for the investment. More importantly it provided us with a detailed roadmap for future improvements across sales, branding, digital presence etc. to help speedy execution, which we are now progressing.’”

Incoming Protean Software Ltd CEO Bob Anderson said: “We found Mark easy to work with and supportive. Furthermore he brought a wealth of experience in terms of the processes and controls required to achieve sales and marketing effectiveness.”
